Oil Cooler Ducting82 viewsThere are not many options for picking up air for the oil cooler. We thought it best to do so after the ramp so that the air has time to diverge, slowing down for the redirection in air flow. Doing so on the ramp would make removal of the cowling difficult. Installing it on the firewall flange would not be possible and would be a poor source of air flow.

Cowling hing fitting129 viewsThe cowling was fit on with the engine to insure a perfect alignment and to keep work progressing. The trick to a nice fit of the hinge is to tape the cowl in position and bondo and/or hotglue the two together. We then removed the two cowling halves as a single unit.
