SEA PRO BOATS LAUNCHES NEW 245FLX CENTER CONSOLE

New 2024 Model Combines Superior Ride, Meticulous Construction and Innovative Comfort and Convenience Features to Create the Ideal “Family Sandbar Boat”

October 25, 2023— Sea Pro Boats, a leading manufacturer of premium quality fishing and family boats based in Whitmire, South Carolina, today unveiled its new-for-2024 245FLX Sandbar Boatduring the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

This new, family focused vessel gives boaters an innovative new twist on Sea Pros proven, 24-foot deep-vee center console.   The first thing boaters will notice about the new 245FLX is a unique cockpit layout and versatile seating options that let families make the most of their time on the water.  For example, instead of the traditional helm leaning post, the 245FLX features two comfortable captains chairs that swivel 360 degrees, allowing the captain and first mate to face in any direction.   Sea Pro also moved the traditional stern livewell to make room for a large, comfortable bench seat that spans the entire transom.

Keeping with this theme of comfort and family interaction, the 245FLX also boasts starboard and port stern seats that convert to face either towards the outside of the boat or inward towards the cockpit.   This allows friends and family to chat and enjoy each others company while cruising, then enjoy all the scenery and activities taking place around them while relaxing on the sandbar.

Speaking of relaxing at the bar,Sea Pro created a custom bow table for the 245FLX that swivels for optimum utility and convenience when chilling out aboard.   This table can also be used with a versatile stern mount — perfect for enjoying food and drinks while dipping your toes in cool, refreshing water.

The new 245FLX is based on Sea Pros proven deep-vee hull design, so boaters will enjoy excellent performance, fuel efficiency and a dry, solid ride in a wide range of sea conditions.    In the Sea Pro tradition, this new model boasts a long list of features and amenities normally considered options on competitive brands.   This includes a fiberglass hard top with integrated windshield, power steering with a tilt helm, a smart battery management system, a console dry box with two USB outlets, raw and freshwater washdowns, and a freshwater shower.   Advanced technology abounds, including a 12-inch Simrad MFD, Audison Marine Audio system, digital switching, and a Sea Pro Connect by Boat Fix telematics system for security and vessel monitoring.

Even with these and many other standard features, boaters can also customize their 245FLX with a wide range of available options, accessories, and hull/upholstery colors.

For some time, our dealers and customers have been asking us for a new model that combines the quality construction and offshore capable ride of our popular fishing center console with a new family and entertainment focused cockpit design, said Sea Pro President Jimmy Hancock.  The new 245FLX delivers on all fronts, and we know its going to be a big hit with our dealers and boaters alike, added Hancock.

This new 2024 model will be available nationwide through Sea Pros nationwide dealer network beginning 12/1/2023.   To learn more about the new 245FLX, or the full range of Sea Pro boat models for fishing and family fun, visit www.seapromfg.com.

Why Use Phender Pros? https://seapromfg.com/2023/04/02/why-use-phender-pros/ Sun, 02 Apr 2023 18:23:29 +0000 https://seapromfg.com/?p=8376

Why Use Phender Pros?

While Phender Pros have been around since 2008 and are not new boating, many boaters are just now learning how valuable they are to have on your boat.  Let’s take a look at how Phender Pro’s can add protection and convenience to your boat.

First, most all modern boats, and the entire Sea Pro lineup have deep V hulls which slice waves to make for a smoother ride.  This bow flare design results in the forward cleat being just as the bow starts to turn into the V shape design.

Now, when docking you have two very different types of environments with different challenges.  In states like Florida, you generally have 1-3ft tides in most areas, so most docks are not floating.  Once you get north into Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, etc, tides start to vary more.

In these photos of this 248 docked up to a floating dock, you can see how the fender is just where the bow starts to curve.  Once the 8-12ft tides common in Georgia start up, this fender will be pushed forward by the current, reducing the protection of the hull.

Phender Pros allow a secondary mounting position that is perfect for your fenders instead of the cleats, which are designed to be the best spot to secure the boat to the dock.  As you can see from the 248 with Phender Pros, the fenders are now placed exactly where they are needed, protecting the boat as much as possible!

The best part about Phender Pros is how easy they are to use.  Simply push in until you hear a click to mount them, or push down on the button and lift up to remove.

When Launching my boat, I always grab my fenders and plug them into my Phender Pro.  The 360 degree swivel mounting style ensures they do not get caught on the trailer’s guide posts, while also having them readily available for solo docking after taking the boat off the trailer so I can quickly grab and park my truck when solo, or quickly dock up and be ready for my fishing buddy on tandem trips.

The best part here is that as soon as you’re pulling away from the dock, you can simply unplug them and stow them before you’re even out of the no wake zone!
